Philosophy

About The Artist

Stephen Weiss was born in Montreal, Quebec. He currently lives in a quaint little community in Nova Scotia with his three wonderful children, and loving wife. Stephen studied classical drawing with the likes of Charles Cooper (Bear River, Nova Scotia) and then moved into commercial and photo-journalism.

Being away from the art scene for several years, he now studies with Francis and Linda Moyer. As a portrait artist, he has developed a group of followers who enjoy seeing themselves in charcoal, pastels, and /or oil.

What Drives Stephen

Taxis, Buses and Chariots if he can find them. However, what inspires him is the experiences that he's had throughout his life and the people whom he has met. Outside of his portraits, his landscapes and/or images reflect Stephen's spirituality and his love of nature. This is what draws him to specializing in the human figure.

His interpretation of God's creation of Man moves him to reproduce as many people as he can. This could be the hunt for the Truth.
